Funeral services Held For Mrs. West
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 12, 1959, at 2pm at the Harwood Baptist Church for Mrs. Luke West, 69, who passed away at the Luling Hospital on Friday. Burial was in the Harwood Cemetery following graveside services. Rev. E H Adams, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Luling, was the officiating minister.
Serving as pallbearers were Mrs. West's nephews.
Valeska Schuchardt West was born in Guadalupe County on March 31, 1890. On November 26, 1939, she and Luke West were united in marriage. Mrs. West had lived in this area all of her life.
Survivors include her husband, Luke West; one brother, Lem Schuchardt of Luling; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Nelson of Luling; and Mrs. Mattie Faurie of Austin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mary Nelson died Sunday, August 30, 1981 in E. B. Davis Hospital, Luling at the age of 87. Funeral services were held Tuesday September 1, 1981 at 3 pm in O' Bannon Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Luling City Cemetery under the direction of O'Bannon Funeral Home.Rev. Marc Tinstman officiated at the services.
Mrs. Nelson was born July 20, 1894 in Guadalupe County, Texas to Robert and Annie Hanks Schuchardt. She was a member of the First Christian Church and followed the occupation of house wife.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Annie Laurie Barnett of Palacios, four sons- George Nelson, John Nelson, Loyd Nelson, and Harold Eugene Nelson, all of Luling; a sister-in-law Mrs Lillie Mae Cavallo of Luling; sixteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

George D. (Red) Nelson died at the Luling Hospital at noon Tuesday July 27, 1948, and funeral services were conducted at the Pierce Chapel at 5 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. W. G. Birkner, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Services were at the City Cemetery were under the auspices of Benton I. Mc Carley Post American Legion.
Desceased was born in Harris County, Texas on February 9, 1890, and came to Luling 28 years ago to engage in the plumbing business. He was married to Miss Mary Schuchardt here in 1926. He had been in bad health for more than a year and had been in the hospital for more than nine months.
Surviviors besides his widow are four sons Georgie, Loyd and Eugene of Luling, Johnnie of Hawaii, in the Navy; one daughter, Annie Laura; one brother Paul B. Nelson o Houston; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Diggens of Ohio.

Schuchardt, November 5, 1938 in Luling, Texas. They had 2 children, Mary Lou Burns and Jimmy Charles Schuchardt. Faye lived in Edna and Victoria and recently moved to Portland, TX. She was a member of First United Methodist Church-Victoria and Eastern Star. She loved to paint and to sew.
She is preceded in death by her husband James of 51 years, and her daughter Mary Lou. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Mary Ella Lee; brothers, Chester Marvin Lee, Robert Curham Lee, James Guy Lee, Charles Daniel Lee and Cecil Paul Lee.
